New website

We have also just swopped our website over so you may notice a slight change. You still find it at the same address www.wessexlowlines.com but I will be able to update and add in the latest news much easier now. 

I will be working on updating the gallery over the next week so please check back regularly for the latest from Wessex Lowlines! 

Exciting times at Wessex Lowlines

We are excited to be seeing the first export from wessex Lowlines today with a lovely little group heading off to northern Ireland. I'm sure they will be very happy in their new home and do well.

I believe these are the first registered lowline cattle to go into Northern Ireland so we hope they are the start of big things for Lowlines there.

We are also very much looking forward to receiving a further import from Canada in the next week, we have been careful to select animals with the right bloodlines. We have had new sires brought into this group and are excited to bring these into our ever expanding herd. 

We are still experiencing the never ending rain so the canadian arrivals will see a difference coming from bitter cold to a wet Dorset! It is testament to the breed how they do so well in such extremes of weather and it just doesn't phase them.

Paperwork, paperwork paperwork

These days everything requires mountains of paperwork and form filling.

It may help if they were written in plain English , instead of being like a riddle! 

Lovely dorset morning

The flood water is finally subsiding , lovely morning ...fingers crossed we can have a break from the rain for a little while

Wetter than wet

We are having a rather wet time in dorset at the moment, our road is now a torrent of water and nearly every house along the valley has water either coming in or rising in the house. I am very thankful our little house is built on higher ground although we are stranded bar land rover or tractor. There isn't too much water standing on the land yet and the cattle are still happy enough.
